About Us

The location of It’s All Good Coffee & Espresso is a quaint English cottage style building located at 2780 Sheridan Road in Zion, Illinois. Nestled on a corner lot our brick coffee shop has ample parking and a beautiful courtyard with mature trees, bordered by brick sidewalks, wrought iron benches and ornate street lamps.

Our coffee shop is part of an astounding revitalization of Zion Illinois’ historic main street businesses. We have partnered with the city to create a spectacular jewel on our city’s main street. Originally founded as a Utopian community, Zion still retains much of its idyllic feel. Located on Lake Michigan, Zion offers miles of beaches, biking and hiking trails and the most park space per capita of any city in the region. It’s location halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago allows our residents access to world-class culture within a quick drive, while enjoying the peaceful benefits of small-town living.

Once inside our customers feel welcome and relaxed and are in for a true coffee house experience. Many of our customers are reminded of past visits to European coffee houses. We offer the only freshly ground espresso based drinks in town, delicious fresh pastries, pies and unique baked goods. The smell of freshly ground espresso beans and the sounds of hand preparation greet our customers at the door. We are the only shop in town that presents our espresso drinks to our customers in a beautiful ceramic mug and saucer.

Once they have made their selection from our extensive menu our customers have their choice of three unique sitting rooms. Lit by beautiful hand blown fixtures the surroundings invite our customers to relax over a latte or a cup of tea while enjoying a delicious pastry. Our customers will also be able to have a delicious lunch with soup, salad or a freshly carved meat sandwich. Our most popular interior location is our quaint gathering room where they can dine in front of our fireplace and bow window, overlooking the courtyard.

It’s All Good Coffee and Espresso is a destination for those customers desiring a unique, relaxed environment while being treated to delicious beverages and food.

A History of Our Building

The It's All Good building used to be a Pure Oil Gas Station. The Pure Oil Company started in Ohio in 1920. As they were standardizing their stations in 1925, they hired designer Carl A. Petersen who had come up the English Cottage style which had been rejected by Gulf Oil. These compact structures contained offices, storage rooms and restrooms. They were mostly prefabricated buildings, made of steel and faced with brick or stucco. Pure Oil used a consistent color scheme: a bright blue tiled gable roof with the rest of the building painted white with blue highlights. Usually two chimneys were put to either side of the building and adorned with Old English "P"s. Copper hoods were placed above the main window and door. Small steps and handrails led into the arched front doorways. The large main window was used to display products. The small window was trimmed with faux shutters and a flower box, giving the structure a homey look. Thousands of these stations were built but only a handful of the buildings survive.
